Danielle Cohn
Vice President of Startup Engagement and Head of LIFT Labs
Danielle is a collaborative innovation executive and recognized expert in building startup partnerships and leading venture acceleration programs. At Comcast NBCUniversal, a Fortune 30 company and one of Fast Company’s 2021 Best Places to Work for Innovators, Danielle and her team work with global startups to navigate internal and external business networks and advance commercial ventures. They have advised more than 2,000 founders, accelerated 90+ companies, and Danielle continues to manage those investments. With input from 1,500 global founders, Danielle built the vision and designed the innovation function, community, and space for LIFT Labs, an award-winning platform for strategic startups in media, entertainment, and connectivity, which fosters an entrepreneurial mindset across the enterprise with 200,000 employees worldwide. She built and operates the flagship LIFT Labs Accelerator with Techstars, a top global seed accelerator, and LIFToff, an open innovation platform for enterprise-ready startups. Within this ecosystem, founders explore the latest trends and technologies with insights from top industry experts, participate in seed stage accelerators in key focus areas, and are coached in business development, go-to-marketstrategies, and brand positioning. All of this is supported by a robust mentorship program, involving 200+ executives selected by Danielle and hundreds of employees across the globe, as well as a media platform centered around powerful startup storytelling. Known as an inclusive leader and champion, Danielle is on the Comcast Cable Diversity Equity and Inclusion National Steering Council and the Leadership Philadelphia Board of Directors. She is also an Executive Producer of Founding in Color, a docuseries her team developed for Xfinity Black Experience and Peacock in 2021. As an entrepreneur with an investor mindset, Danielle co-founded two startups—HOSPITALity (apatient app) and B. Ross (a lifestyle brand)—and is an investor in Conscience VC, an early-stage VC fund that focuses on science-ledconsumer startups. With a personal and professional passion for caregiving, she was a member of the 2021 Advisory Council for The Investor’s Guide to the Care Economy (investin.care), led by The Holding Co., and Pivotal Ventures, and is a mentor in their 2022 Future of Longevity Techstars Accelerator. Prior to joining Comcast NBCUniversal, Danielle was Vice President of Marketing and Communications for the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau for more than a decade and served as an Executive on Loan to former Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter, where she helped launch the Startup PHL seed fund.
