FAQs
This program differs from a traditional accelerator in key ways:
- This program is not just for pre-seed companies aiming to raise a seed round. We have a track record of working with startups at different stages to deliver long-term commercial partnerships.
- Issuance of equity is not required for participation.
- The program includes a shorter time commitment. Most accelerators are 10–12 weeks; this program is six weeks.
- Each cohort only includes 6–8 companies, allowing for a tailored, 1:1 approach.
- The focus is on developing partnerships with enterprises rather than broader company-building programming.
No. Comcast NBCUniversal will not take any equity in the company as a condition to participate in this program, but we will have the right to invest in the company's next financing round.
No. Investment is not included. However, the program facilitates commercial engagements that can result in paid pilots, proofs of concept, and enterprise contracts. Investments will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
We prefer that founding team members participate. We understand commitments come up, so if other senior employees need to fill in for a session or two, that is acceptable.
In addition to in-person weeks, participants can expect three to five hours per week of scheduled virtual content. The program runs over approximately six weeks total.
Each cohort includes six to eight companies selected for enterprise readiness and strategic fit.
No. While the goal is to achieve a pilot or proof of concept, there is no guaranteed engagement at the end of the program. However, 90% of participating startups have launched pilots, proofs of concept, or commercial agreements with Comcast NBCUniversal since 2018.
